Mercyhurst baseball senior Jimmy Latona was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week for his performance the week of Feb. 20-26 as announced on March 1. 

Latona was also dubbed the Pennslyvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Division Athlete of the Week after going 7-for-8 (.875) in three games last week with two home runs, three runs batted in, and six runs scored. Latona reached base 11 times out of 12 for an on-base percentage of .917 and he also posted a 1.750 slugging percentage for the week.
