Mercyhurst University was built on a vision. The Sisters of Mercy looked at the landscape in a small city named Erie and dared to dream of what it could become.
Over the years, thanks to the hard work and perseverance of many, the vision was given life and has grown. I can’t imagine our founders ever dreamed the college would house more than 4,000 students on four campuses. They would be awestruck to see the vibrancy that comes from campus on any given day—the enthusiasm of the students, the incredible faculty and student relationships and the high-quality education delivered each day are truly inspirational. The vision of the college has changed lives. Students who experience Mercyhurst are never again the same, and we have the privilege to watch and be part of this transformation.
This vision, which has touched so many lives, must live on. We don’t know what the future holds, but we can help shape that future by preparing our students to leave the gates and become ambassadors of change. To continue this vision into the coming century, we are engaging in a campaign to enrich the Mercy tradition through better facilities, cutting-edge programs, increased scholarships and an enhanced faculty.
