BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst softball team played their season finale today at LIU. Yesterday, the Sharks narrowly defeated the Lakers 9-8 in game one and 4-3 in an extra inning in game two. Today was completely different. The Lakers recorded hits but were forced to leave every runner on base. The Lakers came into this series with a 6-2 record vs. them all time. In both games the Lakers had more hits or matched Niagara in hits. However, the Purple Eagles captilized on their chances, and took both games, 6-3 and 5-3, respectively. Notably, two Laker freshmen hit home runs. Avarie Mays hit her fourth home run of the season and her second in two days.
