ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team ranked fourth in the preseason Western Water Polo Association coaches' poll released Jan. 19 for the 2017 season.
 
The Lakers finished with 14 points in the polling, good for fourth place out of six teams. The University of California San Diego topped the poll with 25 points and five of six first place votes.
