WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team played Army West Point to a 2-2 tie in Atlantic Hockey competition on Friday, marking the third straight game the Lakers have played to a draw.

Chris Makowski scored the Mercyhurst goals while netminder
Adam Carlson recorded 39 saves.
The Lakers led twice in the contest. Best gave them a 1-0 lead in the first period with assists from
Mychal Monteith and
Matthew Whittaker. Army answered on a power-play goal by Conor Andrle, knotting the game at 1-all.
Makowski put Mercyhurst (14-13-4, 12-9-4) in the lead for the final time with 5:48 left in regulation. He was assisted by
Anthony Mastrodicasa.
The Lakers' advantage was short-lived as the Black Knights responded 1:45 later on a power-play goal by Tyler Pham.
West Point (10-12-8, 7-10-8) was fueled by its power play, going 2-for-8, while Mercyhurst was 0-for-5. The Knights outshot the Lakers, 41-31.
Army goalie Parker Gahagen finished with 29 saves.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
