Football Going "ALL in for ALS" on Saturday

Please join the Lakers on Saturday as we host the Edinboro Fighting Scotts. The kickoff for the fourth annual "ALL In for ALS Game" is set for noon at Tullio Field.

The fundraiser was started in 2013 by Ben Bluemle '06 in honor of his mother. Bluemle was a standout football player for the Lakers and currently is the top agent at his company, Seaport Real Estate Group. Seaport Real Estate Group is considered the leading real estate firm in Savannah.

This past June, Bluemle was recognized for being an outstanding young alumni of Merchurst University for his charitable works and accomplishments in the business world.

In the United States, an average of 15 people per day are diagnosed with ALS. That's about 5,000 people that are identified with Lou Gehrig's disease each year. There currently is no cure for ALS and the average life expectancy is only 2-5 years after diagnosis.

A few years ago the "Ice Bucket Challenge" helped raise national awareness and funds for the ALS Association. This Saturday, help us continue to raise money so that, one day, a cure can be found to fight off this debilitating disease!

Admission to the game will be free. A 50/50 raffle will take place; private donations will also be accepted at the gate. An auction will also take place, including a perfume basket courtesy of Peebles and a flat screen television courtesy of Rent-A-Center.
