ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College women's hockey team will be hosting several fundraising events in support of assistant coach Kristen Cameron and her family during its two-game series with St. Cloud State this weekend.
Cameron, who was entering her second season with the women's hockey team, was hospitalized three weeks ago when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle down Route 19 in Erie, Pa. She received several serious injuries from the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a Toronto hospital after being moved from Erie earlier this week.
Fans attending the series between the Lakers and Huskies will have an opportunity to watch both games from a special viewing area and have a chance to win great prizes from the women's hockey team.
For a minimum donation of $10, fans can watch the game from Mercyhurst Ice Center balcony, located between the men's hockey offices, and enjoy great food and beverage items courtesy of Pepsi and Tim Hortons. Fans can also support Kristen by purchasing raffle tickets for an autographed game jersey on Friday night and a signed stick on Saturday. Tickets are $1 for one ticket, $3 for five and $10 for an arm's length. In addition, Kristen Cameron buttons will be on sale at the front entrance for $5 apiece.
All proceeds from both games, including ticket revenue, will be donated to the Cameron family following the series.
For tickets to either game, please contact the Mercyhurst Ice Center at (814) 824-2277.
