Kennedy Highlights Receivers

Trevor Kennedy became the first Laker in history to pass for and catch a touchdown in a game in 2009.
Editor's Note: This is the seventh in a series of 10 features that highlight a group or position of the 2010 Mercyhurst College football team.

Receivers
Junior Trevor Kennedy highlights a wealth of experienced receivers who will provide Mercyhurst with

one of its most competitive positions. A speedy and versatile athlete, Kennedy finished second on the team in receptions (30) and yards (434) while also showcasing his athleticism with time spent in the Wildcat formation where he went 2-for-2 with a touchdown and 44 passing yards. On the ground, he was the team's third leading rusher, recording 93 yards on 16 carries in 10 games played.

A year ago, Kennedy became the first player in Mercyhurst history to record a passing and a receiving touchdown in the same game on Oct. 24 in a 32-22 loss to then-ranked No. 23 Edinboro. Kennedy connected with Josh Szeluga on the Lakers' first drive for a 23-yard strike before hauling in a 15-yard touchdown bomb from Joe Laffey in the third quarter.

Behind Mohr is sophomore Paris Bruner, a speedster who needs to become more knowledgeable and consistent in the

position. His play in 2009 was primarily on special teams, leading the Lakers in punt returns, but he did post six catches as part of the offense.

Kennedy's reserve is red-shirt freshman Terrance Coon. According to Long, Coon had a breakout spring season that helped propel him on the chart.
