ERIE, Pa. – Head coach Cecil C. Pilson of the Mercyhurst College women’s lacrosse team announced Tuesday the addition of Lindsey McDonald to the women’s lacrosse coaching staff. McDonald replaces Jillian Howley who resigned in June to take a position at Bloomsburg University.

“We’re very excited to have Lindsey on board,” said coach Pilson. “She brings a great deal of coaching experience to Mercyhurst, after serving as an assistant with several of the top club programs in Maryland and coaching overseas.”

McDonald comes to Mercyhurst after serving as the head club coach and local development officer for English Lacrosse in the United Kingdom. While there she promoted the sport at local public schools and implemented several new facets of the game, including an end of the season tournament.

Following her stint in England, McDonald returned to the United States and held posts with CMD Lacrosse Club, Pooleville Girl’s Lacrosse Camp and Damascus High School.

A 2009 graduate of McDaniel College, McDonald played four years of lacrosse and field hockey for the Green Terror in Westminster, Md.

As a member of the lacrosse team, she helped the program achieve new heights, especially in 2009 when she set the program-record for assists (41) and tallied 19 goals. Following her senior season she was named an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Second Team All-Metro Region selection and an All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention honoree.
