Lakers Ranked Seventh in Final IWLCA Poll

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Mercyhurst College women's lacrosse team was ranked seventh in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II Poll, released Monday evening by IWLCA officials.

The Lakers claimed 43 points after finishing the 2010 campaign with a 16-2 record and their second straight bid to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament.

C.W. Post held tight at No. 1 with 97 points and seven first-place votes, followed by second-ranked Lock Haven with 89 points and two first-place votes.

Adelphi and Limestone tied for third with 84 points apiece. The Panthers, however, claimed the final first-place vote.

West Chester rounded out the top-5 with 59 points.

Stonehill moved up to sixth with 52 points, while Gannon (31), Merrimack (16) and Molloy (13) occupied spots 8 – 10.
