Men's Lacrosse Graduate Merrill Selected to Team Canada Roster

Pat Merrill played three seasons for Mercyhurst from 2000-02.
ERIE, Pa. – Team Canada officials announced on Monday that Mercyhurst College men’s lacrosse alumni and current Orlando Titans defenseman Pat Merrill has been named to its final roster that will compete at the 2010 World Championship in Manchester, England this July.
Merrill, a 2002 graduate of Mercyhurst College, will join 23 other players looking to help Canada defend its 2006 gold medal won over the United States.
A three-year letterwinner at Mercyhurst, Merrill played both midfield and defense for the Lakers. He scored 15 goals and added 12 assists and helped the team to a 25-12 record.
Following college, Merrill was selected first overall by the Toronto Rock in National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. He played four seasons with the Rock and helped them to two NLL Championships in 2003 and 2005 before being acquired by New York in the 2007 NLL Dispersal Draft.
