Lakers Rated No. 5 in NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College baseball team has been ranked fifth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Atlantic poll, as announced by officials today.
Defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and NCAA Atlantic Region champion West Chester is ranked first for the second week in a row, receiving six first-place votes. Kutztown is second, having been given three first-place votes. Slippery Rock, West Virginia State and Mercyhurst complete the top five.
The Lakers hold a 5-7 record, and will play host to cross town rival Gannon in a double-header Friday, March 12. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday.
