Mercyhurst Athletics

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst College women’s water polo team dropped its two games at the 2010 Siena Invite on Saturday afternoon, falling to Siena 11-8 and Iona 17-14. 

Junior Rachel Griepsma led the offense with eight goals and five assists in the two games. Freshman Lisett Calderon tallied five goals and four assists, junior Alyssa Katerberg added three goals and two assists, and sophomore Laura Perez netted two goals and three assists. Junior Nicole Nelson reeled in two goals for two points.

Sophomore Hope Rozelle suffered both losses with 11 saves against Siena and 12 against Iona. She now falls to 0-6 on the season.

The Lakers (0-6) conclude their stay in Albany, N.Y., with a pair of exhibitions on Sunday.
