Pierce Selected to ECHL All-Star Game

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Mercyhurst College men’s hockey alumni and current Cincinnati Cyclone forward Matt Pierce has been selected to the 2010 East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) All-Star Game, presented by Reebok on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in Ontario, Calif. Pierce will join goaltender Jeremy Smith as Cincinnati’s two selections on the American Conference roster.
Pierce, a forward from Arnprior, Ontario, has been one of the Cyclones top scorers this season. In 30 games this season, Pierce has supplied Cincinnati with a team-leading 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points.
Back in November he netted his first professional hat trick when he tallied three times in a 6-3 win over the Wheeling Nailers. Just a few weeks after that, he was elevated to the American Hockey League (AHL), where he spent several games with the Milwaukee Admirals.
