ERIE, Pa. – Even though there are no games scheduled for the Mercyhurst College women's hockey team this weekend, three players will still be in action. Juniors Vicki Bendus and Jesse Scanzano, and sophomore Bailey Bram will all be suiting up for the Canadian National Under-22 Team as they look to help the Canadians capture a seventh gold medal at the 2010 MLP Cup, Jan. 5 – 9, in Ravensburg, Germany.

Bendus, Scanzano and Bram join 18 other players on this year's team, which includes 18 of the 22 players who dressed for Canada in a three-game series against the Canadian National Women's Team back in August and 11 players, including Bendus and Bram, who won silver at the 2009 MLP Cup.

Competition is divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. Canada will join Finland and Russia in Group A while host-country Germany will play with Sweden and Switzerland in Group B. Games are set to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 5, with Canada taking on Switzerland and Sweden facing Finland.
