MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Mercyhurst College women’s hockey team retained its No. 1 in the USCHO.com Women’s Division I Poll, released Monday by USCHO.com officials.
The Lakers, who improved to 19-1-3 on the season after a two-game sweep of Syracuse last weekend, earned 149 points and 14 first-place votes. Minnesota was voted second with 136 points and the final first-place tally, followed by Clarkson at third with 116 points, New Hampshire at fourth with 99 points and Minnesota Duluth at fifth with 97 points.
Northeastern (69), Harvard (51), Connecticut (38), Providence (32) and Wisconsin (31) rounded out spots 6 – 10.
Mercyhurst returns to action this weekend with a two-game series against Niagara on Friday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
