FINDLAY, Ohio – Despite winning just four matches, No. 15 Findlay posted two falls in the final three matches to overcome an early deficit and outlast Mercyhurst, 22-21.
The Lakers (2-6) opened with a win by
John Worthington, who took control in the third period to break a 5-5 tie and finish with a 14-5 major decision.

David Bolger, Mercyhurst reeled off four consecutive wins highlighted by
Lance Pitcel’s major decision at 141 (17-9) and No. 1
Andy Lamancusa’s major decision (15-5) at 157.
Also adding points for the Lakers was the nation’s top-ranked 165-pounder
Josh Shields, who delivered a 7-0 whitewashing over Kris Bowser.
From there, the Roughnecks took the next three bouts , two by fall and one by major decision, to take a 22-18 advantage into the heavyweight bout.
Fred Hale won by decision, 4-3, for the match’s final score.
