Coccimiglio Named AHA Player of the Week

Brandon Coccimiglio of the Mercyhurst College men’s hockey team has been named Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
Coccimiglio, a forward from Burlington, Ontario, led the Lakers with three goals and two assists in their two-game sweep of American International this past weekend at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. On Friday, Coccimiglio netted his first natural hat trick and second three-goal game of his career in a 7-2 victory. He also added an assist for four points. He then followed it up with an assist in a 5-3 win over the Yellowjackets on Saturday.
Coccimiglio currently leads the team with 13 goals and 26 points. He is also tied for second in goals in the conference and ranks third among AHA skaters in points.
Mercyhurst continues Atlantic Hockey play this weekend with a two-game series at Sacred Heart, beginning on Friday, Jan. 15 at 7:05 p.m.
