Griepsma Named ACWPC First Team All-American
Mercyhurst
Erie, Pa. – Sophomore Rachel Griepsma of the Mercyhurst College women’s water polo team has been named an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) First Team All-American, as announced Wednesday evening by ACWPC league officials.

Griepsma becomes just the second player under the direction of head coach Curtis Robinette to be named an All-American after Christine Somera (2005-07) earned the distinction in 2005.

A native of Lindsay, Ontario, Griepsma led the Lakers with 48 goals and 54 points through 19 games this past season. She averaged 2.52 goals per game to set the second-highest mark in program history, falling just under a point shy of her record-setting mark of 3.47 set during the 2008 campaign.

Through two seasons of play, Griepsma ranks fourth all-time in goals (128) and fifth all-time in points (150) in the Mercyhurst record books.
