Erie, Pa. – Senior Jason LaShomb of the third-ranked Mercyhurst College men’s lacrosse team has been named East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the week of May 4, announced Monday afternoon by ECC league officials. This marks the second consecutive week in which LaShomb has been named goalkeeper of the week.

LaShomb earned his fourth ECC honor of the season after leading the Lakers to a 6-5 victory over then-No. 3 NYIT May 2 at Tullio Field. The Rush, N.Y. native stopped six shots in the first quarter to hold the visitors to just one goal. He made 12 saves during the contest, yielding just five goals to the Bears. Mercyhurst and LaShomb held NYIT to its lowest single-game goal total since 2004. With the win, LaShomb wrapped up a stellar career.
