Jason LaShomb of the fifth-ranked Mercyhurst College men’s lacrosse team earned his second honor of the week as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tabbed the Laker goalkeeper as Goalie of the Week for the period ending on April 29.
LaShomb guided the Lakers to a 12-6 victory over Wheeling Jesuit this past weekend. The Rush, N.Y. native stopped 13 shots and held the Cardinal offense to just three goals over a span of 53 minutes and 39 seconds. With the win, LaShomb improved to 2-0 this season against Wheeling Jesuit. Overall, he is currently 10-3 with a .603 save percentage and a 6.63 goals against average.
Mercyhurst will play its final regular season game of the season this Saturday, May 2 when defending national champion and third-ranked New York Tech come to town for a 1 p.m. contest at Tullio Field.
