North East, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College women’s water polo team extended its winning streak to four games Sunday morning, defeating CWPA foe Penn State Behrend, 7-0, at the Mercyhurst Aquatic Center in North East, Pa. With the victory, the Lakers improve to 5-13 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Junior
Cathi Korenich recorded her second straight shutout with six saves over the span of four quarters. She now becomes the only goalie in program history to record back-to-back doughnuts.
Freshman
Tara Bouma led the offense with two goals and two assists for four points.
Sophomore
Molly Keleshian and freshman
Laura Hennessey combined for three goals and seven steals. Keleshian followed up on her four-goal performance yesterday with two scores and four steals today, while Hennessey tallied a goal and three takeaways.

Chrissy Becks and freshman
Jessica Clemente rounded out the scoring a goal each.
Mercyhurst returns to action this weekend with an 8:30 p.m. contest against Indiana on Friday, April 3, at the Mercyhurst Aquatic Center.
