INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Mercyhurst College volleyball team moved up one spot to seventh in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, as announced by the Division II women's volleyball committe today.
California owns the region's top billing, with fellow Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference members Clarion, Lock Haven and Gannon rounding out the top four teams. West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference power Wheeling Jesuit takes the sixth spot, followed by Western Division rival Edinboro.
Despite narrowly missing out on the PSAC postseason tournament, the Lakers are looking to remain in the top eight rankings and earn their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Only the top eight teams in each region advance to the regional tournament. Fans who wish to follow the selection announcement can log on to NCAA.com and watch the NCAA selection show on Sunday, November 15th at 9 p.m.
