EDINBORO, Pa. -- At Edinboro, Tomas Bolger led the Lakers with a 43rd-place finish at the 52nd annual Pennsylvania State Athletic Cross Country Championships as Mercyhurst College finished 13th out of 16 teams.
Lock Haven outlasted host Edinboro for the title, snapping a streak of two consecutive championships for the Fighting Scots. The Bald Eagles Nick Hilton won the individual title, covering the 8K course in 26:17.5.
For the Lakers, Bolger finished in a time of 28:23.3 while teammate Nick Stolar added a 55th-place finish in a time of 28:53.5. Steven Lovewell, Calvin Corso and Ryan Haylett rounded out the scoring five for the Lakers with a 73rd-, 82nd- and 83rd-place finish, respectively. Lovewell crossed the tape in 29:43.6 with Corso following in a time of 30:13.5 and Haylett right behind at 30:13.8.
Chris Strohm and Andrew Rusnak completed the Lakers seven runners, finishing in 30:44.2 and 31:11.2, respectively.
Next up for the Lakers is the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship at Mansfield on Nov. 7.
