Erie, Pa. – Athletic Director Craig Barnett and the Image Sports Network have released the schedule for 2008-09. Mercyhurst will have 18 athletic events broadcast locally on the Image Sports Network across six sports.
The Image Sports Network will broadcast four NCAA Division I men’s hockey and four NCAA Division I women’s hockey games. As well, the station will air three games each for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. Finally, one volleyball match will be aired.
The schedule begins Sept. 20 when the Mercyhurst football team hosts Clarion in the home opener at 1:00 p.m. and includes the Homecoming game a week later against Slippery Rock, also at 1:00 p.m. Other highlights of the schedule include a volleyball match Nov. 4 against Edinboro and the broadcast of the College Hockey America Championship game for women’s hockey, which Mercyhurst will host. As well, the women’s hockey game against newly formed Syracuse on Dec. 5 will be seen.
The Image Sports Network was launched Dec. 5, 1998 and has broadcast numerous athletic events since that time. The station is available on Time-Warner Cable throughout Erie County.
