Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College Student Athlete Advisory Board will host its annual Laker Showdown Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Mercyhurst College.

The event, which started in 2007, is a variety show between the Mercyhurst athletic teams. Participating teams will perform original acts to help raise money for Specials Olympics. Students are encouraged to bring spare change, as voting is based upon the weight of what is collected during the event.

Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door. Pennies will also be sold. Last year's event raised $1,000 and drew over 500 attendees.
