Men's Cross Country Rounds Out Season At East Regional Championship

2008 NCAA East Regional Results
Slippery Rock, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College men’s cross country team concluded its 2008 campaign with a 15th place finish at the 2008 NCAA East Regional Championship Saturday afternoon in Slippery Rock, Pa.
The Lakers accrued 431 points to finish ahead of 10 teams competing for a bid to the 2008 NCAA Championship. PSAC foe Lock Haven placed three runners in the top-10 to earn the title with 51 points. Edinboro finished second with 71 points while Slippery Rock took third with 79.
Overall, seven runners represented Mercyhurst in the race. Junior Tomas Bolger led the rush thanks to a 30th place finish of 33:42 followed by freshman Keven Gregg in 73rd place at 35:33.
Seniors Kevin Flanagan and Derek Hoerner finished three spots apart in 103rd and 106th with marks of 37:16 and 37:33 while sophomore Chris Strohm notched a time of 38:14 to take 119th.
Senior Kurtis Billig and freshman Steven Lovewell rounded the runners. Billig knocked home a performance of 38:20 for 120th place while Lovewell captured 125th with a reading of 39:01.
