John Mang was named MVP of the Fall World Series.

Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst baseball team took part in its annual Fall World Series. Here are the results from the best-of-three series.

Game 1- Grey 1, Blue 0

Ryan Schreiber picked up the win in this seven inning pitchers duel. Starters Steve Grife and Sam O’Neil matched scoreless frames through the first three innings; both giving way to the bullpen in the fourth. Relievers Thurman Schaetzle and Nick Scheetz picked up the slack for the next two; Scheetz struck out a pair to end the fourth. The Grey team finally broke through in the bottom of the seventh. Ken Walrond singled to load the bases and Jonathan Dziomba smoked a 1-0 pitch to center to score DJ Haurin for the walk-off win. Craig Denman had two hits to lead the Blue offense; Dziomba had two hits to lead the Grey team.

Game 2- Blue 5, Grey 0

John Mang slowed down the Grey offense, throwing three scoreless innings for the win. Mang scattered two hits while striking out four. Adam Schlessel got the scoring going in the second with a leadoff double and scoring on a passed ball. The Blue opened it up in the third putting up a four spot that the Grey team could not recover from. Craig Denman and Jeff Stoll led off with back to back hits. Schlessel brought them in with a single, and Greg Turk iced off the inning with a triple. Jamie Walczak paced the Grey offense, getting on base three times and swiping a pair of bases.

Game 3- Blue 6, Grey 0

Jon Keppler set the tone early, leading off the game with a single. He came around to score on an RBI ground out by Adam Gray. The Blue would score in each of the first four innings, capped off by a John Mang homerun. Mang was perfect in the game going 2-for-2 with a walk. Jeff Stoll and Adam Schlessel reached base a combined seven times in the game. DJ Haurin had two hits for the Grey. Nick Gillung picked up the win for the Blue on the hill, striking out three in two innings of work.
