Lakers Close Out Impressive Fall With 7-2 Victory

Mijo Cotic won matches at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men’s tennis team finished the fall season with a 5-1 record by defeating John Carroll 7-2 Saturday. The Lakers won 5-of-6 singles matches and two doubles decisions.
 
Mijo Cotic and Adam Marnik slipped past John Carroll’s No. 1 doubles team 8-6 and Tim Hannson and Ronald Heurich picked up an 8-5 win at No. 2. The Lakers then cruised to five straight set singles wins. Cotic won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 2 and Heurich had a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3. Marnik rolled 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 and Kyle King had a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 5. Juan Franco closed out a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
 
Mercyhurst is now off until opening up spring tennis action in February.
